Greeting you at the gate is an early model tractor, the first of many farming implaments you will find amongst the gardens. Each one telling its own story of how the land was farmed in years gone by.

Set in what was a working shearing shed many moons ago, the restaurant has a warm and welcoming ambience with open fireplace and rough sawn timbers. The Barn has soring beams and large windows creating a sun soaked indoor ceremony option. The Billabong is a landscaped outdoor area with waterfall, pontoon and lawn area providing a beautiful outdoor alternative setting for your ceremony.

Our stunningly gorgeous, one-of-a-kind venue will serve as the perfect canvas for a special, love-filled day. Our fantastic rural location offers guests a private venue while still being a few kilometers from Cowes.

Not only do we provide the venue, but our team of chefs cater your event and our handy bar staff provide the drinks. We aim to make your day as easy as possible with our team of professionals.

Originally part of the historic Springfield Estate, the Old Cheese Factory allows visitors to step back in time and explore the historic buildings, including the Homestead Café, venue host for weddings and family functions, or enjoy the beautifully-landscaped gardens, large children’s playground and barbecue/picnic facilities.

The majestic Old Cheese Factory, featuring the 1860s historic Springfield Homestead, Cheese Factory and Kitchen Wash House, stands as a tall reminder of Australia’s early history.

The Homestead Café is a great place for scrumptious lunch, homemade scones, coffee or High Tea with family and friends, a work meeting or to celebrate a special occasion, baby shower or wedding reception. Within the Café and gardens, a number of venues are available to suit a range of purposes. The Café stocks many quality gifts, home wares and plants which are also available for purchase.

The Old Cheese Factory has a variety of rooms and areas for birthday parties, Christmas functions, conferences or that special occasion are available, ranging in size from 10 to 150. All rooms are located within the grounds and surrounded by gardens, easy access to playgrounds, barbecues and toilets.

The venue offers a variety of ways to celebrate your wedding. Our various packages offer flexibility and can suit your requirements ranging from the most intimate of gatherings for 20 guests, to an elaborate celebration of 400 people. You can select a Homestead catered wedding package or one of our self-planned wedding options, allowing you maximum flexibility to customise and coordinate your special day.

Flowerdale Estate is situated approximately 100kms or 70mins drive north of Melbourne CBD, and one hour from Tullamarine Airport. We sit in close proximity to the Yarra Valley, Victorias magnificent High Country and the Goulburn River Valley tourist and wine regions.
